About Me

I am a 26 years old and I live in Queensland, Australia with my husband, three cats, a dog and a motorcycle. I have a bachelor's degree in Communication from Griffith University and four years experience in graphic design, layout, email marketing and website design. I'm willing to work on a wide variety of projects with clients worldwide utilising the Internet.

Sample PDF (print work)

The sample PDF contains some examples of my graphic design work on book covers, DVD covers, newsletters, admin forms and PowerPoint slide designs. Please click here to download the high res version (warning: 22.6Mb). If you prefer a small version, click here (1.7Mb). To save the PDF to your computer, click the link then save using the save-disk icon. Alternatively right-click on the link and go to 'Save target as' or similar.

Websites

Websites I designed and still maintain:

Fees and charges

I charge by the hour for projects with flexible or incalculable time-frames like websites (generally around A$40 per hour), and by quote for shorter/simpler items like book covers. It just depends on the project and the client. For by-the-hour projects, invoices are sent periodically to ensure both the client and I are satisfied with the arrangement. I generally use my own photography or free/cheap stock graphics in my design work. Usually any charges relating to stock images are passed on to the client. I do everything I can to ensure the copyright and other rights in the graphics I use are adhered to.

Services I do not provide

Please note that I am not a graphic artist/illustrator, though I can draw for certain styles of project (eg. cartoons or basic sketches). Illustration is a diverse and time-consuming field of expertise, which can cost anything from $100 to $1000 per piece. I am not a programmer (eg. for constructing forms or databases on websites), but I can call in colleagues to assist when necessary. Any illustrators or outsourced contractors I engage will probably have their own fee structure, which will need to be approved by you prior to any work being done. In some cases, a deposit may be required.

Printing and web-hosting

Services related to getting your project published are readily available for you to set-up yourself. If, however, you require me to set-up and maintain your printing, production and/or website hosting, we would need to reach an agreed terms of payment for this. It can be a time-consuming process and I do prefer to concentrate my time and creativity on actual design.

Contracts and legal issues

Not every project requires a written contract, however some (especially websites) are best outlined by one. My contract template represents the main issues in the designer-client relationship, including payment terms, authority to make changes, deadlines, copyright and so forth. Please click here to preview it. When a contract is not being used, all the correspondence relating to the project is just as binding (eg. emails, letters or voice communications). In order to keep things simple in the event of disagreement, however, I prefer to work with contracts for most clients. If you have your own contract, please feel free to send it to me and I'll adjust my quote accordingly.

The copyright in any design or written work you pay me for is assigned to you, however I reserve the right to utilise the design in promotions of my work.

Please contact me by email to discuss your project
